About

I am 29 year old native Houstonian, Erin Buehler Meadows. In June 2010 I quit my boring, miserable job in medical sales to become an assistant to one of the top realtors in Houston and haven’t looked back. I immediately got my Texas real estate license and have since been learning from the best of the best at the small boutique firm, New Leaf Real Estate. Together, David Houston, and I sell over $30,000,000 in residential real estate a year.

If I were asked to define my job, I would say being a realtor is like taking on the responsibilities of a financial advisor, salesman, interior designer, general contractor, subcontractor, loan officer, writer, photographer, messenger, inspector, leasing agent, lawyer, city tour guide, chauffeur, lunch date, insurance agent, marketing & advertising rep, maid, Orkin man, marriage counselor, and babysitter – all rolled into one. I decided to create this blog to provide insight and inspiration to those seeking an opportunity to invest in real estate and are looking for some honest answers. Plus, I tuly love my job and want to share it!

The Houston housing market has been lucky in recent years for not having felt the harsh effects of the economy like other places around the country – making it one of the most stable and affordable major cities in the US. We have a wide range of homes-styles, nestled in a huge variety of neighborhoods – so there’s seemingly something for everyone. Working in Houston has treated us very well at New Leaf Real Estate, and we feel very blessed to have had such great success in such a short time period.

Follow Housepeeping for a detailed look at community issues, design tactics, building flaws, buying/selling tips, real estate oddities, and a whole host of other stuff that I like to write about.

On a personal note, I am married to an awesome and very patient man named Mac. We are the proud parents to two rotten muts, Kirby and Rocky.
